(Click here to bid on Daffodil on Ebay)
This is a painting I did for "the one color per stroke challenge" (http://dailypaintworks.com/Challenges), it was a great learning exercise and I had a lot of fun, I think I may a challange like this again. I always enjoy painting directly from life... just arranging your subject and sitting in fron of it to capture its beauty is a real pleasure and a great challenge too. It took me a while to get the composition in this one the way I wanted but I'm very happy with the results. Enjoy.
I have 3 paintings currently on Ebay - the bidding ends tonight around 8:30. Check them out!
http://tiny.cc/melvintoledoebay Happy Holidays! I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year. I'll be taking a break for the next few days to celebrate with family and friends.
I'm auctioning Sunflower for Amanda on my ebay site through Saturday, December 18th at 8:45 pm. Amanda is a good friend who went to college with my wife - she has a great website www.bythetimeimthirty.com with a wish list of things that she would like to accomplish by her 30th birthday on December 26, 2010. Although I can't help her have lunch with Brandi Carlile (#2), I wanted to help her out with her #1 wish - to raise $10,000 for the Jimmy Fund at the Dana Farber Institute. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has supported the fight against cancer in children and adults at Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for cancer patients around the world. Amanda is a patient at Dana Farber and you can read more about her story on her website. If you'd like to help Amanda cross another wish off of her list, please consider bidding on Sunflowers for Amanda - 100% of the proceeds will go to the Jimmy Fund - or, if you'd like to donate directly to the fund, you can follow this link. If you can get her a lunch date with Brandi or have an album to recommend to her (#18), contact Amanda through her website or leave a message in the comments.
